How did you like the event?
From Inveneo's perspective, it was a really great platform to present our work and receive feedback from the audience. There were about 150 - 200 attendees, and we were able to connect with a number of international development organizations and NGOs, such as UNICEF and the FAO. The audience seemed very interested in examples (including ours) about specific projects in the field. And, they generated a really interesting debate about how projects could be replicated and/or expanded.
This was your first time at the UN. What most impressed you about it?
I already had a follow-on meeting there with a large UN organization. It was interesting to see the diversity and energy of the people working there. And, what was most impressive was to see how entrepreneurial the team is that we might be working with - my feeling is that there are significant opportunities to bring technology and development together to make real impact in peoples lives.
How would you compare this event to the one last year out here in Silicon Valley?
I felt that this year's event was more interactive and more intimate. It seemed that although it's clear that Silicon Valley and UN speak very different languages, because of these sessions and ongoing opportunities for organizations from each to work together, they are now coming closer and bridging some of the differences between them.
Thanks, Kristin!
